The implementation of the Goals and Actions under this theme will contribute to completing the following targets set by the Province of PEI’s 2040 Net Zero Framework:
- Reduction in emissions from transportation 25-30% by 2030 and 55-65% by 2040
- Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEVs) account for >60% of PEI’s registered passenger vehicles by 2040
- ZEVs account for 100% of light duty car dealership sales by 2035
- 40% (or more) of registered medium and heavy-duty vehicles are zero-emission by 2040.
