In the spirit of Reconciliation, we acknowledge our presence on unceded Mi’kmaq territory. Epekwitk (Prince Edward Island), Mi’kma’ki, is covered by the historic Treaties of Peace and Friendship, which recognized Mi’kmaq rights and established an ongoing relationship between nations.
We pay our respects to the Indigenous Mi’kmaq People who have occupied this Island and held its natural spaces sacred for over 12,000 years. We honour and are grateful for the Mi’kmaq community’s invaluable knowledge of this land and continued commitment to its stewardship; past, present and future.
We recognize that climate action is inextricable from meaningful Reconciliation.
