Local Food Discovery Week (LFDW) is a community celebration of local food, offering residents and visitors opportunities to explore the people, places, and resources that contribute to Charlottetown's local food system. Presented by the City of Charlottetown in partnership with the Charlottetown Food Council, LFDW aims to raise awareness of locally available food and resources while highlighting the social, economic, and environmental benefits of choosing local food.
From August 29 to September 6, residents and visitors are invited to take part in this passport-style, eight-day-long celebration of local food. Participants can pick up a Local Food Discovery Passport at participating locations or at City Hall.
Attend events, visit participating locations, and complete activities throughout the week to collect stamps. Completed Passports can be dropped off in ballot boxes at participating locations for a chance to win local food-inspired prizes.
